We're on the Blackfoot
As the 2015 North American International Auto Show approaches, there has been talk that General Motors has announced a willingness to collaborate with Google – creating autonomous vehicles with the well-known brand.
According to Fortune Magazine, GM Chief Technology Officer Jon Lauckner said as much in an interview. ““I’m not in charge of deciding what we will and won’t do, but I’d say we’d certainly be open to having a discussion with them,” said Mr. Lauckner.
If both parties agree to collaborate with each other, there could be great success ahead for them both. Google is one of the front runners in driverless car technology, and paired with General Motors’ established company, vast resources and relationships with suppliers – this duo could take over the automotive industry.
If Google and General Motors did pair up, many are wondering how that relationship would function. Some say that hardware and software for OEMs would solely be provided and supplied by Google, while Lauckner ponders, “Would it be something where it would be an opportunity to work together in a joint development agreement?”
What is your opinion on the possible collaboration between these two famous brands?
