We're on the Blackfoot
Renee Hughes of Hoover, Alabama, can attest to that. On Aug. 1, someone poured paint-stripping gel all over her brand new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, seriously damaging the car’s jet-black paint job.
From the photos it looks as though the perpetrator dumped the gel in the middle of the C7’s hood, as well as splashed the liquid all across the driver’s side of the vehicle. Potent stuff too, in some areas the paint has literally dripped off the car.
According to CorvetteBlogger.com, Renee plans to send the Corvette off to a repair shop to get fixed, though the remedy could take up to a month or more. Judging by the severity of the damage, it won’t be cheap either.
Police are reportedly involved and Renee has offered-up a $3,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest of the vandal or vandals. Hopefully there’s a happy ending here. That’s a terrible thing to do to a car.
